PubMed: The Basics: My NCBI

You can use a My NCBI account to save your searches and create alerts for when new articles are added that meet your search criteria.

To register for a My NCBI account, click on the Sign in to NCBI link at the top-right corner in PubMed.

Quick tutorial on MyNCBI

• To save your search and/or create an alert, click Create alert underneath the main search box.
• Follow the instructions on the next screen. This is where you can give your search a name, sign up for alerts, and tell PubMed how you'd like to be notified.

• When you log into your My NCBI account, look for your saved searches in the upper-right corner.
• Click on the name of the search to re-run it and view results.
• If you would like to edit the search or turn your alerts on or off, click on the gear icon next to the search name to modify your options.
