Attaching and Annotating PDFs

To attach a PDF to a reference:

  1. Select the reference in your library.
  2. The Reference Panel on the right displays information about the selected reference.
  3. In the Reference Panel, click on the paper clip icon at the top.
  4. Choose the PDF on your computer. Once added, it can be viewed by clicking on the file name at the top of the Reference Panel.

To annotate the PDF:

  1. First, select the reference and click on the attached PDF at the top of the Reference Panel.
  2. The PDF will be displayed within the Reference Panel. To expand it, click on the Open PDF icon in the toolbar above. It is the icon on the far left.
  3. Using the toolbar above the PDF, you can add sticky notes, highlight, underline, and strikeout text. You can also search the full-text of the article.
  4. Remember to click on the save icon in the Reference Panel toolbar.

NOTE: If the PDF is older, or if it's from a scanned image, some of the annotation features may not work.
