Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the tool for team collaboration in Office 365 that integrates the people, content and tools. Teams allows users to chat, meet, share files as well as work with other apps. It also offers an application for Android and Apple devices.  

Getting Started with Teams

• On your computer go to https://products.office.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/group-chat-software and sign in or open Teams from your WebMail.
• At the top left side of the search bar click the icon for New Chat
• Type the names of individuals you want to join
• Begin typing your message in message box
• If you wish to initiate a video or audio call click the corresponding icons in the top right corner as seen below

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is generally used for one-on-one or group conversations (up to 10 people), with either a chat or video option. It also offers an application for Android and Apple devices.  

Getting Started with Google Hangouts

• On your computer go to hangouts.google.com or open Hangouts in Gmail. 
• At the top, click New conversation
• Enter and select a name or email address
• Begin typing your message in message box
• If you wish to initiate a video or audio call click the Video Call or Phone Call icons as seen below
