Zoom: Quick Guides

Hosts have multiple options when starting a meeting

From the desktop application

• Click the New Meeting icon
• Click Schedule, to schedule a new meeting

From a browser (must be logged in)

• Click Host a Meeting

Participants have multiple options for joining a meeting once they have received the invite:

• Copy and Paste the URL into a browser which will automatically join a meeting
• Click Join on the desktop application or within a browser and enter the Meeting ID and Password

Host's Toolbar

Microphone Mute/Unmute: This icon controls the muting and un-mute functions of the host's microphone

Stop/Start Video: Controls the host's display

Invite:This icon allows the host to invite other participants to the meeting. The host will receive a url or can copy a full invitation.

Manage Participants: This icon enables the host to mute/unmute participants as well as set other permissions for the meeting

Share Screen: This icon allows the sharing of content from the host's computer into the meeting. The host can choose from the full screen or a specific application (i.e. a browser or presentation). 

Chat: This buttion accesses the chat window for participants

Record: This button allows the meeting to be recorded and results in an MP4 file

Reactions: This icon allows users to either provide a Thumbs Up or Clap

End Meeting: This icon will end the meeting for all participants

Participant's Toolbar

The Participant's Toolbar mirrors that of the Host's toolbar with a few exceptions. Those features which differ from that of the Host's toolbar are underlined.

Participants: This icon enables the participants to view other meeting participants.

Share Screen: This icon allows the sharing of content from the host's computer into the meeting. The host can choose from the full screen or a specific application (i.e. a browser or presentation). 

Chat: This button accesses the chat window for participants

Record: This button allows the meeting to be recorded and results in an MP4 file

Reactions: This icon allows users to either provide a Thumbs Up or Clap

Leave Meeting: This icon will allow you to leave the current meeting

Participants are also able to Raise Hand within the chat feature
